Interested in Earning Money for Your Organization?
Florida Peacemakers, a local club in Florida, is dedicated to the sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Our monthly competitions combine elements of Wild West Show exhibition shooting with barrel racing, pole bending, and reining. Competitors use revolvers loaded with black powder blanks to shoot ten balloon targets while navigating challenging courses. This timed event rewards the fastest competitor with the fewest missed targets.
To clarify, we DO NOT use real bullets; our revolvers are loaded with blanks, and the black powder only reaches about 20 feet.
We are seeking balloon setters for our upcoming events held once a month on Saturdays and Sundays at L Cross Equestrian Center (40810 Grays Airport Rd, Lady Lake, FL 32159). Your organization can earn up to $400 per day by participating.
Requirements:
- Arrival Time: 8:30 am at the L Cross Equestrian Center.
- Participants: Young participants are preferred for their agility in quickly setting up balloons between contestants. Efficiency is crucial for the smooth running of the event.
- Number of Participants: Ideally, we need 12-17 participants. Fewer participants may find the task physically exhausting.
- Adult Supervision: Mandatory.
- Orientation: A brief 10-minute orientation will be provided on the first day.
Balloon Setting Process Overview:
- Location: The balloon station is adjacent to the competition arena and includes compressors, balloons, balloon sticks, and balloon bins, all under a shaded cover.
- Roles: Participants will be divided into fillers and setters. Fillers prepare the balloons, ensuring there are enough of each color. Setters replace the 10 balloons in the arena after they are popped by competitors. This process occurs every 30-45 seconds, with about 50 competitors each running four times during the day.
- Event Duration: The event typically ends around 4 pm.
We look forward to collaborating with your organization soon.
